We used to buy bottled water until we bought the pitcher. It is cost-effective. Our water has a lot of minerals and sometimes has a chlorine smell. With the filter, it doesn't smell and it doesn't feel heavy in the stomach. It requires a little attention when changing the filter. We throw away the first 4-5 waters because it leaves carbon residues at the beginning.
