Well, I've had it here for about 5-6 months..... it's a beast without many words.... 64GB RAM at 3600 CL18 (I could have gone even better, but where I bought it didn't have it) we're talking about a simply monstrous processor. It doesn't understand anything at all... for games? I have 8 windows from the same game open and they all play perfectly smooth in a Virtual Machine... for virtualization? 4 VMs open, one running my tasks and the others don't even notice anything... I have it running at full speed all day long and it works at around 50-55%, I haven't seen it go higher... I have 130 tabs open in Opera, another 50 in Google Chrome + discord/skype/netflix/downloaders/ and some other things... I mention these to say that it doesn't understand anything at all... the only thing missing is to make it 128GB RAM soon, I believe, and I'll have the ultimate Consumer Workstation that I could have. From there, you go to Threadripper, which I don't think is even necessary. It has so much power that you really can do absolutely everything without exaggeration. Is it worth its money? Obviously yes, and it's not just for 1-2 years... it's for a long-term investment that pays off for me. For someone who wants to get a consumer CPU but also have the incredible power of a workstation, you're here.
I didn't mention temperatures! It doesn't go above 65 degrees and we're talking about having it fully loaded. How many more VMs can I open? Although when I get more RAM, I'll open more :)
Overall: The best thing out there in my opinion, it's a great value for money because with one, you have it all. AMD did an incredible job with this processor, I didn't expect it and I'm coming from a 2700x which is still a beast.
