It should not be considered a coincidence that a whole century after his death, Proclus was celebrated with special honor.
He was counted among the saints, whose teachings served as a standard expression of Orthodox faith.
Already at the synod held in Constantinople (448), Eusebius of Dorilaion, along with the Bishop of Alexandria, Saint Athanasius, Gregory Nazianzen, and Gregory Nyssen, included Proclus among those whose teachings they upheld.
At the same synod, Eutychius listed Proclus among those he considered Orthodox.
Therefore, even at the heretical synod (449), the theological views of Proclus were read.
It should not surprise us that ecumenical fathers, such as Basil of Seleucia, during their synodal activities (448, 449, 451), ultimately demonstrated a Christological stance similar to that of Proclus.
