At the beginning of the new century, special education in our country is called upon to play a more meaningful role. A role that will demonstrate and disseminate that children and young people with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities are not "non-educable individuals" as long as we provide them with appropriate educational opportunities. Having confidence in the possibilities of individual development and rejecting "defectology", seeking continuous action, recognizing the value of the body and senses, seeking continuous collaboration between various scientific disciplines and providing the opportunity for social and school inclusion, we will succeed in maximizing the abilities of these individuals. [...] At the same time, education and support at home ensure the necessary conditions for the inclusion of children with intellectual disabilities both in the family environment and in school. In this direction, the content of this book is oriented, which for methodological reasons is structured in two parts: In the first part, there is a theoretical approach to teaching strategies for educating children with intellectual disabilities. In the second part - the practical part - specific education programs are presented, which if implemented by parents and educators will significantly contribute to improving the situation of children.
