A tribute to the fascinating work of Stanley Kubrick, twenty years after his death. Perhaps the most iconic American director in the history of cinema, with fervent fans and grateful successors, with opponents and even pursuers, if Stanley Kubrick were alive today, he would be ninety-one – and it has already been twenty years since his passing.

Even those who have seen little cinema have certainly heard of or seen Spartacus, Lolita, the comedy S.O.S. Pentagon Calling Moscow, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, or, perhaps more so, 2001: A Space Odyssey. The latter may have in mind the urban legend on social media that Kubrick was the one who directed the fake moon landing of the Americans with "Apollo 11" in 1969!

Sometimes, cinema becomes more believable than reality. Or, reality, increasingly often, resembles a film. Stanley Kubrick was one of the great masters of his art. But how well do we really know his entire body of work? Twenty-one critics write in this edition of the Panhellenic Association of Film Critics (PEK), which accompanies the tribute to the twenty years since the director's death, from the 32nd Panorama of European Cinema.

The publication gives us a good opportunity to re-examine, with a critical eye, all of his films, his unknown photographic work, and unique aspects of the cinema of the creator we loved.
