This edition is an accurate reprint of the first. Since we have no involvement in the drafting of the text, we did not believe we had the right to make any modifications and limited ourselves only to editorial work.

We took on this edition because we believe that the work will provide an impetus for a certain rejuvenation of our social democratic propaganda. Holding the opinion that the desire to serve this propaganda work should be the necessary consequence of social democratic beliefs, we address all like-minded individuals of the author of this brochure with the proposal to contribute by all means (especially, of course, through reprinting) to the widest possible dissemination of the work, as well as of all generally the publications of Marxist propaganda.

The present moment is very appropriate to provide such assistance. The actions of Rouskoye Bogatstvo are becoming increasingly provocative toward us. This magazine, aiming to paralyze the spread of social democratic ideas in society, has reached the point of openly accusing us of showing indifference to the interests of the proletariat and of insisting on the destruction of the masses.

We dare to believe that with such methods the magazine harms only itself and prepares our victory. However, we must not forget that the slanderers have all the material means to widely disseminate their slanders. They have several thousand copies of the magazine at their disposal, and they have reading rooms and libraries available to them.
