Theseus, one of the most beloved Greek heroes, was the son of King Aegeus and the princess Aithra. When he set out to meet his father for the first time in Athens, he managed to clear the road of all the robbers and villains of the time. Later – before he himself became the king of Athens – he saved the Athenians from a very heavy tax. His exploits were great, but as king, he also made many important decisions for the future of his homeland.
