Description & Specifications

On April 6, 2009, the significant French philosopher, journalist, and activist Bernard-Henri Lévy delivered a lecture in the Dissane hall of the Ecole normale - in the same hall where he attended lectures by top thinkers and where Jacques Lacan also spoke - titled How I Philosophize.

In his lecture, Lévy risked describing the highly charged battlefield of the modern philosophical landscape, as well as clarifying the nature of his conflict with contemporary philosophers. At the same time, he wanted to express his gratitude to all those thinkers who, in one way or another, influenced his worldview.

Subsequently, Lévy processed and enriched the original text of his lecture, delivering us this specific book. In it, among other things, he discusses the futility of dialogue in philosophy, the usefulness of enemies in our efforts to resist the dictatorship of Opinion, the need, greater than ever in today’s era of almost absolute nihilism, to bet on the existence of truth, as well as the reason why a philosopher today cannot help but be a warrior.
