Description

Description

The present volume contains texts that pertain to justice, the judicial system as a coherently articulated set of legislated institutions through which one of the three functions of the state is exercised: the judicial.

It also includes texts concerning the justice operators: judges, prosecutors, and lawyers, along with the practices, behaviors, and mindsets through which the law is administered and the judicial system functions.

The texts in the volume are exceptional. They are exceptions to the rule as they diverge from the usual manner in which justice and its operators become the subject of public discussion and criticism.

In them is articulated, in a qualitative discourse, a way of thinking that in Greece has been and still is rare. A way of thinking that does not overlook reality, does not shy away from its bitter truths, and does not willfully ignore its problems.

A way of thinking that examines matters with acuity and knowledge, because it is not impoverished. That seeks only that which it explicitly pursues, because it is not hypocritical. That does not aim to distract its recipients, because it is sincere.

That seeks causes and solutions, wherever and however it can, because it is not one-sided. That does not serve cryptic private purposes or concealed corporate interests, because it is not superficial.

Finally, a way of thinking that is not biased, because it is sober; it is not superficial, because it is mature; and it is not tendentious, because it is reflective.
