Description

Description

“The need to record the history of a place is not a new phenomenon. In the 20th century, the need to study culture and tradition became more pressing. Through historical research, many elements emerged that are useful to the new reader and researcher or scholar of our land.

Paliouri and its area were fortunate to have their natural beauty evolve, while at the same time their cultural heritage became the subject of broader studies. However, many forgotten topics, either scattered in archival sources, as well as events and occurrences that represent the historical memory of our ancestors, should not be lost.

The urgent need for a more complete knowledge of the past has guided the present writing, which in the future may serve as a springboard for the continuous progress of our land and culture. In the spirit of what has been mentioned, it is believed that with this work, Greek literature is enriched, and I hope it will be used for further historical research as well as for the continuation of our tradition, especially by our youth and all Paliourians abroad.”
