With an introduction and editing by Professor Mr. Sterios Fasoulakis, the complete series of the Untamed by Adamantios Korais (5 volumes in 7 books) is now published. This edition includes all of Korais' handwritten additions and corrections. Thus, the new edition becomes richer than the original (1828-1835).
This work, which has been hard to find for many years, is now presented complete to the Greek public, sponsored by Mrs. Matrona Xyla-Eggon, who donates the proceeds from the sales to the "Korais" Library, where the valuable books of the great Greek, originally from Chios, are preserved.
The first volume contains two poems by Theodoros the Forerunner with extensive notes and five charts that demonstrate the linguistic bridge between Ancient Hellenism and Modern Hellenism, highlighting the national kinship and continuity.
The second volume includes the first part of the modern Greek dictionary compiled by this great scholar.
The third volume consists of elements of the history of ancient Chios to show the island's contribution to culture, a fact that deserved its freedom and not Ottoman slavery. It also includes a translation of the New Testament and a dialogue regarding the Holy Light in Jerusalem.
The remaining volumes include the second, third, and fourth parts of the modern Greek dictionary, while the last one contains tables and indices from F. Fournaraki, a collaborator of Korais.
