Simpler adjustment compared to classic planes, including bed rocks. I have used it for both planing and thicknessing. The side adjustment is very sensitive. It takes some getting used to and a sacrificial piece of wood, so you can roughly know at what angle it cuts. Excellent for end grain. Just make a chamfer on the far corner.
