Description & Specifications

Epirus is a place that resists. Nature here, even in our absence, works wonders every moment. The landscape, impervious to time and untouched by human madness, constitutes a kind of sacredness that is tangible and can be walked on, seen, and experienced.

Nikos Desyllas, through a collectible treasure of 180 pages and 174 color photographic documents, walked, touched, and was captivated by this other Epirus of legend, solitude, and unique beauty. His photographs, technically flawless, are further animated by a genuine emotion that never degenerates into tourist sentimentality.

The texts are by Christoforos Miliotis. The whole idea, I believe, carries the element of returning to the homeland, reclaiming it. Desyllas photographs Epirus, gazing from Mourgkana and Tzoumerka at that piece of it which has been tested for a long time. When homelands are shattered into pieces, it is then that creators come to heal the wounds. They are the only ones who can and deserve to do so.
