I bought this stereo to replace the factory one in my 2010 Qashqai. The main reason was to upgrade the sound in my car, give the dashboard a more modern look, and have the ability to use a USB stick without spending a fortune on an Android screen.

First, let me talk about the installation (done by a professional). It requires a plastic tray to cover a small gap around the stereo. The tray costs around 45-50 euros, but I haven't bought it yet because the gap is small and doesn't bother me visually, while 50 euros seem excessive for a small plastic piece.

Pros:

The menu for most functions is simple and easy to use without looking at the manual. However, there are some issues that I will mention in the cons.

The sound is truly upgraded. It has significantly higher volume compared to the factory stereo (as expected). There are many settings, and the two custom equalizer settings are very helpful based on my preferences. I have one with relatively strong bass/treble for music genres that require it, and another one with a relatively flat sound and reduced midrange for more relaxed listening (especially during long drives). The only downside in this case is that it may require replacing the factory speakers to fully exploit the stereo's capabilities. Especially the ones in the Qashqai are mediocre to bad and struggle with the bass that the Pioneer stereo offers abundantly. Nevertheless, you can still notice a difference.

The screen is satisfactory with good responsiveness to touch and good clarity (be careful if you wear polarized glasses because you won't see anything, just like with all screens of this kind).

The radio reception is good, better than the factory one.

The Bluetooth connection is immediate and doesn't disconnect.

The build quality is good for the price.

Cons:

The Bluetooth is COMPLETELY useless. You can't have a conversation with anyone. While you can hear well, the person you're talking to can't. For the record (as mentioned by someone else), the microphone has 3 levels of sensitivity. When you make or receive a call, it defaults to the middle level, and AFTER the call starts, you can adjust the microphone volume. I haven't used the first level. The second level is very difficult to have a conversation with, and you have to shout in an annoying way, both for you and potential passengers, and it's not guaranteed that you'll succeed. In the summer, with open windows, it's annoying for the surrounding cars as well. The third level increases the sensitivity of the microphone a bit, BUT it also captures a lot of car noise, resulting in the inability to have a conversation (not to mention that it makes the process worse). In conclusion, the Bluetooth is completely useless for calls to the point where I deleted it from my phone and use earbuds for my conversations. The only use you can make of it is to listen to music from your mobile phone.

The stereo has the most terrible, useless, crappy, stupid (add any cosmetic term you want) algorithm for playing random songs from a folder. Besides the fact that it requires a small seminar to figure out how to select random playback*, I have folders with, for example, 200 songs inside, and it insists on playing THE SAME SONGS every time. It's supposed to be random, BUT IT'S THE SAME SONGS every time. Favorite songs and my soul hates them because I listen to them over and over and over again and again and again and again so much that I'm thinking of deleting them so I can listen to something else. And just for some reason, when you turn off the engine and start it again, it starts playing the same songs from the beginning. Songs that you heard a few minutes ago.

*Because the method is relatively complicated and particularly dangerous as it distracts your attention with the settings more than it should.

When you select the radio, the saved stations appear in a vertical column on the left side of the screen. You can expand the column with an arrow to see the RDS of the station. The first problem is that when you select between stations, you don't see the frequency of the station but its RDS. The big problem when you have the column collapsed is a "button" next to 6. If you don't pay attention and press it (I've done it many times), it starts searching and saving the 6 strongest stations in the area, so you lose your own and have to search again from the beginning.

Finally, the volume +/- is very difficult to use. It is small in size and increases or decreases the volume slowly. It should be rotary for ease of use and for safety reasons.

We simply forget about video. It's funny to even mention it.

These are the basic things. Would I buy it again? Probably not. I would try to delay it and save some money for something with Android.

Hello everyone, I have had the screen for 3 years, so I have tested everything in detail as I am not an average user, I am a DJ and I have high demands from my sound system.

Positives
- It is not Android, so it does not require updates and such, the menu is very fast and never freezes.
- Very good sound amplifier for its price and the menu for sound settings is very accurate, perfect for someone who will install a bass in their car with detailed adjustments.
- Satisfactory touch sensitivity.
- Bluetooth is very good for Spotify/YouTube, it never lags.
- The screen dims, which is very positive for someone with sensitive eyes.
- With about 10 euros, there is also a remote controller from Pioneer.
- There is no better and branded one for its price!

Negatives
- The microphone is unacceptable, you cannot make phone calls via Bluetooth, it is a permanent drawback.
- The steering wheel controls cost about 100 euros...
- The colors and wallpapers cannot be changed.
- Videos require specific file/protocol to play.
- It does not mirror to play YouTube videos, only music.

Overall, for someone interested in installing a rear camera, listening to music properly, and playing some video clips, or playing music from Spotify, it is great. It does not have GPS, mirroring, Apple Car, etc., so anyone looking for such features should go for Android.

The sound performance is good. The radio receiver seems quite sensitive, although I haven't tested it outside the coverage area. However, the machine has some serious flaws, and it is important for anyone who needs all the features or who insists on buying what is written on the packaging (expensive or cheap, it doesn't matter) to be aware of them. The machine does not support Greek. This is not the worst thing since it can match several characters to Latin ones in the phonebook and music folders, and you can understand most of what you need without difficulty. However, the Greek ID3 tags that appear on the screen while playing a song are displayed in Chinese or not at all. At least, that's how it happens to me with old songs; I don't know if someone uses a different encoding (English works fine, and probably all the languages supported by the menu). All of this doesn't matter much because, from what I've seen, you can only select folders from the USB stick; there are no other options like albums or artists. It doesn't have a rotary control for volume, which is more practical and not even slightly tactile, making it difficult to find by touch when driving. However, the worst thing is that you cannot make phone calls via Bluetooth. You can hear the other person perfectly, but they hear you with echo and interference to a particularly annoying extent (tested with Xiaomi Mi8 and Samsung S7). The other disadvantages can be overlooked because the machine has good performance, is easy to install, works perfectly with a cheap rearview camera, and is not expensive for what it does. However, if someone wants to use it for phone calls, they should probably look elsewhere. And I mean only for calls, as it plays songs from Xiaomi via Bluetooth just fine. On the other hand, if you connect the Xiaomi with a cable, the machine displays an "Format Read" error and freezes. Very bad for a machine that claims to support Android. Of course, in the fine print, the manual mentions a list of compatible phones, but it is not particularly enlightening, not to mention that usually you check that after the purchase. I should also mention that it does not support an external microphone, which would solve the problem. To play videos, you need to connect the relevant cable to the handbrake, presumably due to regulations, but there is also the incorrect but easy solution of grounding. Other friends who have researched it better have written about the video formats it plays. Also, the camera can be activated with both +12V and grounding. You can select the option from the menu, although all the cameras I saw were with +12V, which is the default option. Also, by default, the camera is disabled, which confused me a bit until I discovered it. I hope I helped someone who is considering buying it.
