The so-called Pythagoreans are included among the pre-Socratic philosophers. The Pythagorean movement occupies a significant place in the history of ancient Greek philosophy, as its lifespan was over 800 years (from the late 6th century BC to approximately the 3rd century AD).

Among the large number of Pythagoreans, many names have been lost forever. However, there are also several who have been preserved by tradition, either by name or along with some testimonies about their works and philosophical theories.
