It works as one would expect. It has been tested on various IDEs as well as 3.5 SATA without any issues. As for the "power supply" included, I would say do not use it at all. Very poor construction. Since you will be taking the IDE from some PC, use the PC's power supply to power the drive. There is no reason to choose a second solution when you have the ideal power for something. However, if for some reason you need the power supply, connect it to a power strip with a switch, connect the power supply to the drive with hatred (really...), and the cable from the power strip to the brick, and then turn on the power strip.

I return after a while to present my negative review. If two out of ten read them, four burn them, and the other four don't even read them, we have a problem. For this money, I didn't expect something better, poor quality cables and transformer. These products should stop being released in the market.

  • the packaging is different from what the picture shows. well, that's not a problem, the problem is that the transformer inside for the power supply didn't work at all so, because I was in a hurry, I had to go buy another one. of course, the store is not to blame for this because it was sealed in the package. it's just that old tools like this one, which seems to have been on the shelf for a long time, it's good to check them before selling them.

  • Unfortunately, no matter what I did, I never saw a 3.5 IDE. 1) In connection with the hard drive, it is -2 teeth, I don't know if this IDE TO USB plays a role and 2) the four-pin plug of the power supply is 3, the other is empty, I don't know if this plays a role. The disk can be heard, but unfortunately, the PC does not recognize it, not even from disk management. It's a shame. The disk may be faulty. I don't know

Well, because there are many different things being said about its use, such as it getting hot and not working or the PC not detecting it... for me, these are all silly excuses. Read how to use it correctly and then everything will work perfectly. The only correct thing from the reviews I saw is about the low quality of the power supply, but it is absolutely logical and justified by the price of 7 euros.
    1. Open the PC.
    2. Connect the IDE to USB cables to the hard drive and the PC respectively.
    3. Connect the power cable first to the socket or power strip and THEN the four-pin power plug to the hard drive, in order to ensure that the power supply does not cause any sparks in the socket and burn the hard drive (because it is of low quality).
    4. If Windows does not recognize/display it, you need to go to disk management and format the disk as a new simple volume.

I managed to connect an IDE HD 3.5. However, a SATA HD 3.5 disk failed to open. It may be a software issue as the same disk opened when I connected it to a new PC. There are other parameters besides simply connecting the cables and seeing a disk. There is a possibility that they are not recognized by the system as active, etc...

I had read the comments and before using it, I decided to do a check to make sure that everything works properly in terms of power. The connection was made as follows. Hard drive connected to the computer, hard drive connected to the power supply, and then I plugged the power supply into the socket. So I connect it and wait to hear the hard drive start working. After 2-3 seconds, it starts emitting SMOKE and smelling, so it BURNED my hard drive.

The transformer is of very poor quality. I bought one for myself and one for my father and both of them exploded. Unfortunately, we didn't see the advice to connect it with "hate".. Luckily, no hard drive was damaged.
The rest is fine. It reads disks that don't require additional power easily. But it doesn't deserve a higher rating.
    It read a 10GB 2.5-inch disk on Windows 10.
