The North American Jerry Drake, or Mister No, is a fictional character from Italian comics created in 1975. He experienced many adventures throughout World War II, where he fought as a soldier, pilot, and member of the American secret services in various places and was eventually named Mister No by his adversaries, due to his pride and stubborn refusal to obey orders. In early 1945, he repatriated and eventually decided to settle in Manaus, Brazil, to live life on his own terms.
But what if Jerry Drake was born 25 years later than his official biography? The new series of the hero, "Mister No Revolution," comes to answer that exact question, maintaining the three periods that define his life (war, life as a veteran, and escape to an unknown place) unchanged and without altering anything about his uncompromising character! In the second part of this new series titled California ["Mister No Revolution - California," April 2019], written by Michele Masiero and illustrated by Alessio Avallone, Jerry Drake finds himself in the early 1960s in San Francisco, one of the largest factories of ideas, the breeding ground for hundreds of revolutions that tried to change the face of American society and perhaps the whole world. Contemplating what he will do with his life, he discovers love, falls and rises again, learning to fly! He is a Vietnam veteran trying to stand on his own feet again, while the world around him seeks a new kind of freedom!
