It awakens memories from my childhood, as a short-pants kid, whenever I would meet Mr. Stelios, the neighbor from the upstairs apartment, on Hippothontidou Street in Petralona, he left behind an old-fashioned fragrance. A mix of vanilla, apricot, banana, and firewood. Incredibly indescribable scent, one of those that immediately, as soon as you smell it, activates very specific neurons with memories of your childhood. After 47 years, I finally found this fragrance: the Tabac shaving soap, gentlemen. Ever since I discovered it, I shave almost daily with it and I smell like Mr. Stelios to the neighbors. The only thing missing is the characteristic "clack" from his worry beads. I discovered that if you put it in the fridge, it creates a better lather. I already have one in the fridge and three in the freezer. Highly recommended.

Ύστερα από 47 χρόνια βρήκα επιτέλους την ευωδία αυτή: το σαπούνι ξυρίσματος Tabac κύριοι. Από όταν το ανακάλυψα, ξυρίζομαι σχεδόν καθημερινά με αυτό και μυρίζω και εγώ κύριος Στέλιος στους γείτονες. Το μόνο που λείπει είναι το χαρακτηριστικό "κλακ" από το κομπολόι του.
Ανακάλυψα πως αν το βάλεις στο ψυγείο κάνει καλύτερο αφρό. Έχω ήδη ένα στην ψύξη και έχω και τρία στην κατάψυξη. Προτείνεται ανεπιφύλακτα.
This is the first soap I bought when I started wet shaving after many attempts and several trials with soaps of the same price. I must say that even the Goodfellas soaps are class superior. As for the scent, I won't comment; it left me completely indifferent. In terms of protection, zero against slip, scoring a 5 or 6 out of 10. The only good thing I found is that it's a soap that will last excessively long due to triple milling and it's easy to lather. It has a very good post-shave feel, but the post-shave glide is absolutely ZERO. Those who have sung praises for this soap are referring to the old formula, which is night and day. πρώτο σαπούνι που αγόρασα όταν ξεκίνησα το Π.Ξ μετά από πολλές προσπάθειες και αρκετές δοκιμές σε σαπούνια της ίδια τιμής εγώ να πω ότι ακόμα και τα goodfellas τα σαπουνακια είναι κλάσης ανώτερα. για το άρωμα δεν θα μιλήσω προσωπικά με άφησε αδιάφορο τελείως. από προστασία μηδέν από γλίστρα με άριστα το 10 στο 5 με 6. το μόνο καλό που βρήκα είναι ότι είναι ένα σαπούνι που θα κρατήσει υπερβολικά πολύ λόγο τριπλής άλεσης και είναι εύκολο στον αφρισμο. Α έχει πολύ καλό μεταξυριστικό (post shave) μεταξυριστική γλίστρα το απόλυτο ΜΗΔΕΝ. όσοι έχουν γράψει διθυράμβους γιαυτό το σαπούνι αναφέρονται στην παλιά φόρμουλα που είναι μέρα με την νύχτα. η συγκεκριμένη φόρμουλα είναι μαύρη και καταχνιά. αυτή είναι δικιά μου άποψη αλλά μετά από 2 χρόνια που ξεκίνησα αυτόν τον τρόπο ξυρισματος και έχοντας δοκιμάσει πολλές βάσης νομίζω ότι έχω μια μικρή εμπειρία πλέον.

IT IS NOT the old tabac with TALLOW.
It is the so-called "Vegan" (New Formula).
You will notice the difference from the ingredients listed on the packaging on the back.
The Vegan lists potassium laurate and not the main ingredient potassium tallowate that the old one has. Other ingredients are also missing (like coconut milk, etc.)
I see a photo that was uploaded by someone else, with the ingredients that list potassium tallowate.
From the date of the review, it is obvious that it is an old review, when the Old Formula was still available.
The old tabac is almost impossible to find because Tallow production has stopped.
Nevertheless, it is a good soap with a nice scent (the classic tabac scent).
P.S. I also have the Tallow. One idea is all. I get super shaves with both.

Το Vegan γράφει potassium laurate και όχι το βασικο συστατικο potassium tallowate που έχει το παλιο. Λειπουν κι αλλα συστατικα (οπως το γαλα καρύδας κλπ)
Βλεπω και φωτο που ανεβηκε απο αλλον. με τα συστατικα που γραφει potassium tallowate.
Απο την ημερομηνια της αξιολογησης ειναι προφανες οτι ειναι παλια η αξιολογηση, οταν ακομα υπηρχε η Old Formula.
Το παλιο tabac ειναι σχεδον αδυνατο να το βρειτε γιατι εχει σταματησει να βγαινει το Tallow.
Hearing so much about Tabac, I was disappointed when I opened the lovely jar and smelled it. I was expecting something amazing and instead, it smelled like a simple soap. I was so disappointed that I hesitated to use it. However, when I did, I couldn't believe how good it is, until I started to like its scent. Very good lather with a little loading (so it will last a long time), great slickness and protection, good but not outstanding post shave. I consider it a value for money and an all-time classic soap, and it's worth trying it at some point.
Ακούγοντας τόσα πολλά για το Tabac απογοητεύτηκα ανοίγοντας το υπέροχο βαζάκι & μυρίζοντάς το. Περίμενα κάτι το φοβερό & μύρισα ένα απλό σαπούνι. Απογοητεύτηκα τόσο που άργησα να το χρησιμοποιήσω. Όταν το έκανα όμως δεν πίστευα πόσο καλό είναι, μέχρι που άρχισα να συμπαθώ & το άρωμά του. Πολύ καλός αφρός με λίγο φόρτωμα (άρα θα κρατήσει πολύ), φοβερή ολισθηρότητα & προστασία, καλό, όχι κορυφαίο post shave. Το θεωρώ VFM & all time classic σαπούνι & αξίζει να το δοκιμάσετε όλοι κάποια στιγμή.
As a first soap for classic shaving, I got the Proraso sandalwood. Apart from the scent, I was not satisfied with its slipperiness. However, my friends, Tabac is a whole different story! I had a fantastic shave, couldn't feel the blade, and the scent is very good. Get it without hesitation!
Σαν πρώτο σαπούνι για κλασικό ξύρισμα πήρα το Proraso σανδαλόξυλο. Πέρα από το άρωμα δεν έμεινα ικανοποιημένος από την ολισθηρότητα του. Το Tabac όμως φίλοι μου καμία σχέση! Εκανα φανταστικό ξύρισμα δεν καταλάβαινα τη λεπίδα και το άρωμα του πολύ καλό. Πάρτε το άφοβα!

Είναι σκληρό, τριπλής άλεσης που σημαίνει ότι θα διαρκέσει πάρα πολλά ξυρίσματα.
Φτιάχνει με λίγο φόρτωμα πολύ αφρό,ικανό για τρία περάσματα.Εξαιρετική ολισθηρότητα,πολύ καλή προστασία κατά το ξύρισμα και πολύ καλή επίσης μεταξυριστική προστασία.Το άρωμα του είναι retro,βαρύ που ίσως ξενίσει όσους συνήθισαν τα πιο μοντέρνα αρώματα.
Η συσκευασία με το λευκό πήλινο μπολάκι είναι κόσμημα.
First time I use this specific soap, after all these positive comments, videos and references, I bought it and I was really satisfied. The greasiness, the density of the foam with a very small amount, the scent (which remains even after shaving) but also the packaging which stays with you and you can place the soap inside it as it is available on the market without the bowl, are reasons why I highly recommend it.
I plan to also get the aftershave of the series and the cream.

Πρώτη φορά που χρησιμοποιώ το συγκεκριμένο σαπούνι, μετά από όλα αυτά τα θετικά σχόλια, βίντεο και αναφορές το πήρα και πραγματικά έμεινα ικανοποιημένος. Η λιπαρότητα, η πυκνότητα του αφρού με πολύ μικρή ποσότητα, το άρωμα (το οποίο μένει και μετά το ξύρισμα) αλλά και η συσκευασία η οποία σου μένει και μπορείς να τοποθετήσεις μέσα σκέτο το σαπούνι αφού διατίθεται στην αγορά και χωρίς το μπωλ, είναι λόγοι που το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα.
Σκοπεύω να πάρω και τo after shave της σειράς και την κρέμα

The minus is that the razor doesn't glide as well as other soaps that have tallow (animal fat)..

For those who are interested in traditional shaving, this is one of the most well-known and classic soaps.
It lathers extremely easily with a soft brush and it is one of those products that crave water until you create the cream. In terms of performance, it has left me very satisfied, it glides nicely and my skin feels great afterwards.
The scent is definitely not fresh or refreshing in any way. I would describe it as heavy, classic but not overpowering in intensity. I can't smell it on my face after applying my aftershave. I'm not crazy about the scent, but it's not a deterrent for me to use it.
It's one of those soaps that don't run out easily because it is excessively hard, triple-milled, meaning it is dehydrated during production.
I highly recommend it without a second thought for someone looking for a value for money and efficient product. It has been in the market for so many years, so it must be doing something right!

Αφρίζει υπερβολικά εύκολα και με μαλακό πινέλο και είναι από τα προϊόντα που διψάνε για νερό μέχρι να φτιάξεις την κρέμα. Στη χρήση με έχει αφήσει πολύ ικανοποιημένο , γλιστράει ωραία αλλά και μετά η επιδερμίδα μου είναι μια χαρά.
Το άρωμα του σε καμία περίπτωση δεν το λες φρέσκο ή δροσερό. Θα το χαρακτήριζα βαρύ , κλασικό αλλά όχι δυνατό σε ένταση. Στο δικό μου πρόσωπο δεν το μυρίζω μετά από το after shave μου. Δεν ξετρελαίνομαι για το άρωμα του αλλά δεν είναι και ανασταλτικός παράγοντας για να το χρησιμοποιήσω.
Είναι από τα σαπούνια εκείνα που δεν τελειώνουν εύκολα γιατί είναι υπερβολικά σκληρό , τριπλο -αλεσμένο (triple – milled) δηλαδή αφυδατωμένο κατά την παραγωγή του.
Το προτείνω χωρίς δεύτερη σκέψη για κάποιον που ψάχνει ένα value for money και αποδοτικό προϊόν , τόσα χρόνια είναι στον χώρο, κάτι κάνει καλά!

IT IS NOT the old tabac with TALLOW.
It is the so-called "Vegan" (New Formula).
You will notice the difference from the ingredients listed on the packaging on the back.
The Vegan lists potassium laurate and not the main ingredient potassium tallowate that the old one has. Other ingredients are also missing (like coconut milk, etc.)
I see a photo that was uploaded by someone else, with the ingredients that list potassium tallowate.
From the date of the review, it is obvious that it is an old review, when the Old Formula was still available.
The old tabac is almost impossible to find because Tallow production has stopped.
Nevertheless, it is a good soap with a nice scent (the classic tabac scent).
P.S. I also have the Tallow. One idea is all. I get super shaves with both.

Ειναι το λεγομενο "Vegan" (New Formula).
Τη διαφορά θα τη καταλάβετε απο τα συστατικά που αναγραφει η συσκευασια απο πισω.
Το Vegan γράφει potassium laurate και όχι το βασικο συστατικο potassium tallowate που έχει το παλιο. Λειπουν κι αλλα συστατικα (οπως το γαλα καρύδας κλπ)
Βλεπω και φωτο που ανεβηκε απο αλλον. με τα συστατικα που γραφει potassium tallowate.
Απο την ημερομηνια της αξιολογησης ειναι προφανες οτι ειναι παλια η αξιολογηση, οταν ακομα υπηρχε η Old Formula.
Το παλιο tabac ειναι σχεδον αδυνατο να το βρειτε γιατι εχει σταματησει να βγαινει το Tallow.
Hearing so much about Tabac, I was disappointed when I opened the lovely jar and smelled it. I was expecting something amazing and instead, it smelled like a simple soap. I was so disappointed that I hesitated to use it. However, when I did, I couldn't believe how good it is, until I started to like its scent. Very good lather with a little loading (so it will last a long time), great slickness and protection, good but not outstanding post shave. I consider it a value for money and an all-time classic soap, and it's worth trying it at some point.
Ακούγοντας τόσα πολλά για το Tabac απογοητεύτηκα ανοίγοντας το υπέροχο βαζάκι & μυρίζοντάς το. Περίμενα κάτι το φοβερό & μύρισα ένα απλό σαπούνι. Απογοητεύτηκα τόσο που άργησα να το χρησιμοποιήσω. Όταν το έκανα όμως δεν πίστευα πόσο καλό είναι, μέχρι που άρχισα να συμπαθώ & το άρωμά του. Πολύ καλός αφρός με λίγο φόρτωμα (άρα θα κρατήσει πολύ), φοβερή ολισθηρότητα & προστασία, καλό, όχι κορυφαίο post shave. Το θεωρώ VFM & all time classic σαπούνι & αξίζει να το δοκιμάσετε όλοι κάποια στιγμή.
As a first soap for classic shaving, I got the Proraso sandalwood. Apart from the scent, I was not satisfied with its slipperiness. However, my friends, Tabac is a whole different story! I had a fantastic shave, couldn't feel the blade, and the scent is very good. Get it without hesitation!
Σαν πρώτο σαπούνι για κλασικό ξύρισμα πήρα το Proraso σανδαλόξυλο. Πέρα από το άρωμα δεν έμεινα ικανοποιημένος από την ολισθηρότητα του. Το Tabac όμως φίλοι μου καμία σχέση! Εκανα φανταστικό ξύρισμα δεν καταλάβαινα τη λεπίδα και το άρωμα του πολύ καλό. Πάρτε το άφοβα!
For a very long time now, my favorite soap for short trips.
Ideal for transportation, with the familiar Tabac fragrance that comes from 4-5 decades ago.
Excellent slipperiness, excellent shaving slipperiness, very good protection.

An excellent soap that has made history in traditional shaving as it has been and perhaps still is a reference point. It is hard, triple-milled, which means it will last for many shaves. It creates a lot of lather with a little loading, capable of three passes. Excellent slickness, very good protection during shaving, and also very good post-shave protection. Its scent is retro, heavy, which may alienate those who are used to more modern fragrances. The packaging with the white porcelain bowl is a gem.
Ένα εξαιρετικό σαπούνι που έχει αφήσει ιστορία στο παραδοσιακό ξύρισμα καθώς για δεκαετίες ήταν και ίσως ακόμη είναι σημείο αναφοράς.
Είναι σκληρό, τριπλής άλεσης που σημαίνει ότι θα διαρκέσει πάρα πολλά ξυρίσματα.
Φτιάχνει με λίγο φόρτωμα πολύ αφρό,ικανό για τρία περάσματα.Εξαιρετική ολισθηρότητα,πολύ καλή προστασία κατά το ξύρισμα και πολύ καλή επίσης μεταξυριστική προστασία.Το άρωμα του είναι retro,βαρύ που ίσως ξενίσει όσους συνήθισαν τα πιο μοντέρνα αρώματα.
Η συσκευασία με το λευκό πήλινο μπολάκι είναι κόσμημα.
First time I use this specific soap, after all these positive comments, videos and references, I bought it and I was really satisfied. The greasiness, the density of the foam with a very small amount, the scent (which remains even after shaving) but also the packaging which stays with you and you can place the soap inside it as it is available on the market without the bowl, are reasons why I highly recommend it.
I plan to also get the aftershave of the series and the cream.

Πρώτη φορά που χρησιμοποιώ το συγκεκριμένο σαπούνι, μετά από όλα αυτά τα θετικά σχόλια, βίντεο και αναφορές το πήρα και πραγματικά έμεινα ικανοποιημένος. Η λιπαρότητα, η πυκνότητα του αφρού με πολύ μικρή ποσότητα, το άρωμα (το οποίο μένει και μετά το ξύρισμα) αλλά και η συσκευασία η οποία σου μένει και μπορείς να τοποθετήσεις μέσα σκέτο το σαπούνι αφού διατίθεται στην αγορά και χωρίς το μπωλ, είναι λόγοι που το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα.
Σκοπεύω να πάρω και τo after shave της σειράς και την κρέμα

Nice scent and the soap creates a nice lather. Provides protection and a good feeling after shaving. Also, the price is very good (I bought it for 5.77) for what it offers, not like now that I saw it being sold for 23, probably due to a pricing mistake.. (for the soap refill only, without the bowl)

Ωραίο άρωμα και κάνει ωραίο αφρό το σαπούνι. Παρέχει προστασία και καλή αίσθηση μετά το ξύρισμα. Επίσης και η τιμή πολύ καλή (στα 5.77 που το αγόρασα) για αυτό που προσφέρει και όχι τώρα που είδα ότι πωλείται στα 23 μάλλον από λάθος τιμολόγηση.. (για το ανταλλακτικό σαπούνι μόνο δίχως το μπολ)
Very nice scent, rich foam.. The plus is the feeling it leaves on the skin after shaving..
The minus is that the razor doesn't glide as well as other soaps that have tallow (animal fat)..

What to comment on first, I don't know. The incredible masculine scent? The perfect texture of the foam? The amazing post-shave texture? That it is durable and will last you a long time? The perfect porcelain bowl? If I haven't convinced you, buy it to experience Tabac for yourself. It's worth every penny!

Very good shaving soap. It creates easy lather, has good protection, slipperiness, and a very good feeling after shaving. I don't give it 5 stars because I have a reservation about its ingredients.
Παρά πολύ καλό σαπούνι ξυρίσματος. Κάνει εύκολο αφρό, έχει καλή προστασία, ολισθηρότητα και πολύ καλή αίσθηση μετά το ξύρισμα. Δεν βάζω 5 αστέρια γιατί έχω μια επιφύλαξη για τα συστατικά του.
One of the most well-known soaps among wet shavers for its excellent quality. It has superior ability to create lather with relatively less water and more easily than other hard soaps, to have excellent glide and decent protection. The only thing that wasn't on the same level for me is its scent. I would say it has a traditional, familiar aroma to previous generations of older people and mature, in my opinion, for men aged 40+.
Ένα από τα γνωστότερα σαπούνια στους wet shavers για την άριστη ποιότητά του. Έχει κορυφαία ικανότητα να δημιουργεί αφρό με σχετικά λιγότερο νερό και πιο εύκολα από άλλα σκληρά σαπούνια, να έχει άριστο γλύστριμα και αρκετά καλή προστασία. Το μόνο που δεν ήταν στο ίδιο επίπεδο για εμένα είναι το άρωμά του. Ένα άρωμα θα έλεγα παραδοσιακό, γνώριμο σε προηγούμενες γενιές μεγαλύτερων ανθρώπων ηλικιακά και ώριμο, για άντρες 40+ κατά τη γνώμη μου.
For those who are interested in traditional shaving, this is one of the most well-known and classic soaps.
It lathers extremely easily with a soft brush and it is one of those products that crave water until you create the cream. In terms of performance, it has left me very satisfied, it glides nicely and my skin feels great afterwards.
The scent is definitely not fresh or refreshing in any way. I would describe it as heavy, classic but not overpowering in intensity. I can't smell it on my face after applying my aftershave. I'm not crazy about the scent, but it's not a deterrent for me to use it.
It's one of those soaps that don't run out easily because it is excessively hard, triple-milled, meaning it is dehydrated during production.
I highly recommend it without a second thought for someone looking for a value for money and efficient product. It has been in the market for so many years, so it must be doing something right!
Για όσους ασχολούνται με το παραδοσιακό ξύρισμα από τα πλέον γνωστά αλλά και κλασικά σαπούνια.
Αφρίζει υπερβολικά εύκολα και με μαλακό πινέλο και είναι από τα προϊόντα που διψάνε για νερό μέχρι να φτιάξεις την κρέμα. Στη χρήση με έχει αφήσει πολύ ικανοποιημένο , γλιστράει ωραία αλλά και μετά η επιδερμίδα μου είναι μια χαρά.
Το άρωμα του σε καμία περίπτωση δεν το λες φρέσκο ή δροσερό. Θα το χαρακτήριζα βαρύ , κλασικό αλλά όχι δυνατό σε ένταση. Στο δικό μου πρόσωπο δεν το μυρίζω μετά από το after shave μου. Δεν ξετρελαίνομαι για το άρωμα του αλλά δεν είναι και ανασταλτικός παράγοντας για να το χρησιμοποιήσω.
Είναι από τα σαπούνια εκείνα που δεν τελειώνουν εύκολα γιατί είναι υπερβολικά σκληρό , τριπλο -αλεσμένο (triple – milled) δηλαδή αφυδατωμένο κατά την παραγωγή του.
Το προτείνω χωρίς δεύτερη σκέψη για κάποιον που ψάχνει ένα value for money και αποδοτικό προϊόν , τόσα χρόνια είναι στον χώρο, κάτι κάνει καλά!
The well-known nice fragrance. Luxurious packaging. The container is multi-purpose. You hold it and put in a soap refill. The foam is good. Not something extraordinary. A bit pricey. With cheaper products, you achieve softer skin.
Το γνωστό ωραίο άρωμα. Πολυτελής συσκευασία. Το δοχείο είναι πολλαπλών χρήσεων. Το κρατάς και βάζεις ανταλλακτικό σαπούνι. Ο αφρός καλός. Όχι κάτι συνταρακτικό. Ακριβούτσικο. Με φθηνότερα προϊόντα πετυχαίνεις πιο μαλακά γενιά.
I just started the PΞ and chose this soap based on reviews, it is really excellent, it makes wonderful lather very quickly and has an amazing scent.
Μόλις ξεκίνησα το ΠΞ και διάλεξα αυτό το σαπούνι βάση κριτικών είναι πραγματικά εξαιρετικό κάνει υπέροχο αφρό κ πολύ γρήγορα κ έχει καταπληκτικό άρωμα.
