It does not have a built-in electric igniter. The user instructions are on the back cardboard of the packaging that opens. It took me a year to find this out!
When I don't have the soldering tip attached, but the other one for the small torch, mine goes out at intensity 3.5/4 and not after the first level (1/4).
The spring is used to pull away the soldering tip so we can access the torch tip, in order to ignite it with a lighter. In about a minute, the soldering tip is ready.
Did you know that when refilling butane lighters, you may first need to release the pressure through the valve?

It is essentially a powerful windproof lighter.
Very good for its price. It is worth it for its practicality and ease of use.

It is slightly larger in diameter than a regular electric soldering iron (in the photo it is shown next to an Antex). Inside the cylindrical nozzle, there is a grid that ignites and heats the tip. It takes only 30-40 seconds to reach a temperature sufficient to melt the solder. I have never used a gas soldering iron before, and the fact that there is no cable to drag around makes the job much more comfortable. One refill is enough for about 20-30 minutes of continuous use. Perfect for small jobs. It can be filled with common propane/butane canisters for lighters.

It only requires a little caution because there is a hole 2 centimeters from the tip for the gas to escape from the burner. This hole releases a considerable amount of heat, and if the area we want to solder has other nearby cables, it may melt their insulation, so it should not be aimed at things we do not want to heat up. It is good, as with electric soldering irons, to tin the nozzle and tip before the first use because, as known, heat immediately oxidizes metals.

The flame intensity adjustment it has is a bit useless. If you increase it above 1/4, it starts to release gas irregularly and with interruptions, resulting in it going out. However, it is not that important since even at 1/4, it heats up very quickly and does its job properly.
