"The model of ecology" is a program that explores experimental teaching methods. It is funded by research from the Academy of Fine Arts and supervised by the professor of the school, Dimitris Mytaras, who collaborates with a group mainly of graduating students of the school.
The entire research is divided into 3 parts: a) Collection of relevant texts and visits (to places with ecological problems - on-site research and photography). b) Analysis and commentary on the gathered data. c) Proposals for the creation of an artistic work.
The research does not have a scientific character, but attempts to approach the problem through personal and immediate sensitized contact. It relies mainly on experience and much less on information. It tries to identify sounds, visual impressions, movement, and even smells, while simultaneously aiming to detect the social-political environment of the space.
In this way, an alphabet is created capable of producing an artistic work according to each individual's abilities. What is mainly of interest is the path the research follows to analyze and then synthesize the artistic work. The works that emerge in the final phase are simply presented in detail with drawings and texts without commentary. The next stage, which is the realization in physical scale, is not included in this current research.
