Description

Skeppshult was founded in 1906 by C.E. Andersson. Known for its robust and high-quality cast iron products. Each product is handmade by pouring molten iron into special molds made from very fine sand, from Lake Vättern near Skeppshult's factory in Sweden. The sand is compressed under several tons of weight, making it capable of withstanding the extremely high temperature of the molten cast iron. Once cooled, the mold is separated, and the product is left to cool before further grinding and finishing work is performed. It is then mixed with local rapeseed oil from Osterlen, which protects the cast iron from external damage and helps give it a natural non-stick behavior. The pure cast iron ensures efficient heat distribution and energy-efficient use, making all Skeppshult products some of the most environmentally friendly cookware to use in your kitchen. They can also be used on all types of stoves, including induction.
Skeppshult uses electricity generated from wind and hydroelectric power throughout the production process.
Do not wash Skeppshult products in the dishwasher, rinse with hot water and dry by wiping with kitchen paper, and occasionally apply a coating of a little rapeseed oil or vegetable oil.
