Recent purchase (24/12). As mentioned in other comments, some parts of the mechanism are cheap, such as the handle cap which came off in the first hour of the first fishing trip. First of all, that's a bad sign. Otherwise, its performance was very good when fishing in rough sea with lots of seaweed clumps (so, weight/resistance for the mechanism). This particular rod didn't catch any fish, but the mechanism's operation in such conditions was very good and smooth, and I didn't notice any other 'cheap work'... I will return for a re-rating after a few more fishing trips.
Update 050125 2nd fishing trip: For a purchase up to €80, it seems good. For anything more, prefer something better (e.g., the Shimano XC14000 I got for €98 is a class above, no matter how you compare them)
Update 100125 3rd fishing trip: First time in 30 years of fishing that the bail arm of the mechanism broke down out of nowhere. Not even with the cheapest Chinese ones has this happened to me! I wonder about the good ratings on various sites. Useless...
After contacting the company (17-18 days after receiving it), the issue was resolved thanks to the company's goodwill, as the mechanism was repaired free of charge, although in my opinion it should have been replaced. A mechanism that shows such a significant fault so soon makes you at least worried...
Update 040225: I just received the repaired mechanism. The store, to its credit, did not charge me anything for the shipping/receiving. I added 1* to the rating due to the correct after-sales service from the company, I will try the mechanism in at least 2 fishing trips and will return for a new review.
Update 190625: after 4-5 fishing trips, without catching any big fish with it, the mechanism works as it should. Fortunately, it hasn't shown any more signs of 'falling apart'... I raise the rating to 4* and we'll see...
Update 200725: During a night fishing trip, after casting, the line jumped the mechanism (...) and gathered under the body of the mechanism without me noticing. This led to entire clumps of line coming off from the reel's main line. In the end, I cut about 30-40 meters from the main line, just to be able to take the rod and mechanism home.
After this, 3* and I won't bother with it again. Needless to say, I don't recommend it to anyone... At the first opportunity (sale) I will replace it with a Shimano...
