In 1881, Anton Jermann left the Austrian wine region of Burgenland for Slovenia to lay his roots in Friuli Venezia Giulia. This is where the Jermann legend began to grow. The family tradition was passed down through generations, with Silivio Jermann taking the helm in the 1970s, bringing the wines to global recognition.
The Jermann winery is nestled in the lush hills of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The family's two estates, totaling 395 acres, are eight miles apart and showcase very different terroirs.
The Pinot Grigio Vineyard is located in the Collio area and has a southwestern exposure. The soil consists of sandstone and marl, with a rocky substrate. Classic white winemaking.
