Every December, the children of J.R.R. Tolkien received an envelope with a stamp from the North Pole. The envelope contained a letter written in strange, shaky handwriting, along with drawings and beautiful colorful illustrations.
The letters were from Santa Claus. They contained wonderful stories about life at the North Pole. How the reindeer got loose and the gifts scattered everywhere, how the unfortunate Polar Bear fell from the North Pole onto Santa Claus's rooftop and found himself in the dining room, how he broke the moon into four pieces and made the Man living up there land in Santa Claus's garden, how Santa Claus and his friends were forced to fight against the horde of goblins living in caves beneath the house!
Sometimes the Polar Bear also wrote some scribbles, while Ilbereth the Elf added his own calligraphic letters. Many of these enchanting letters and illustrations can be enjoyed by you in this book.
