Only after the Arab-Israeli war of 1967, when Israel had emerged as a key strategic ally of the U.S., did a "Holocaust Industry" take shape and begin to gain the exceptional prominence it enjoys today.

By producing multiple and often conflicting interpretations of the tragedy, with varying degrees of respect for historical facts but always according to current needs, the "Industry" both diverts or prohibits criticism against Israel while justifying the overall American policy and the moral complacency that characterizes it.

The author concludes that the "Holocaust Industry," much more than the ramblings of some "revisionist" historians, is the one that threatens historical memory and insults the suffering of the victims.
