The windmill from Ugears is a mechanical puzzle that incorporates the history of England. The model is based on the Chesterton Windmill, a cylindrical stone windmill from the 17th century. It was built around 1632-33 and is the oldest windmill in England that retains all its operational components.
The model is designed in a "Victorian steam-punk skeleton" style and is powered by a removable rubber band engine. Once the engine is removed, the Windmill can operate manually, allowing observation of its mechanism. The windmill's sails create strong wind when moved quickly and can also spin with the incoming air.
The mechanism includes a double planetary gearbox reducer, as well as a creative motion transmission system with a curved link and chain. The rotating base of the tower is part of a conveyor mechanism with screws, providing a unique mechanical experience.
The Windmill comes with figures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. The box contains everything needed for assembly, with top-quality components laser-cut for great precision. The colorful and easy-to-follow assembly instructions are available in 11 languages, without the need for glue or special tools.
