Description

This book resulted from the need to make widely known an educational material that I gathered over the last eight years from organizing the annual Students' Creations Exhibition, and to serve as a guide for first-year middle school students in the activities they are called to develop within the framework of the Technology lesson.

The annual Students' Creations Exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Technical Museum of Thessaloniki. Each year, more than 100 middle schools from Macedonia and Thrace participate in the exhibition, showcasing individual and group projects created by students in their Technology class. The projects presented are selected by the schools and meet common criteria, which are discussed in the first part of the book.

The book consists of three volumes. Each volume is divided into two parts. The first part is common to all three volumes and includes three chapters: The introduction, which provides some background on the history of Technology and the subject's place in relation to the technological world that surrounds us. The written work, where the general framework of a written assignment that should accompany a creation is presented, highlighting and commenting on how various students approached the stages of this part of their work. The creation, where the criteria for a construction that meets the goals of the lesson are outlined, and examples are given of how students addressed various construction problems.

The second part differs in each volume and includes a number of projects with which students from various schools participated in the aforementioned annual exhibitions or were works of students from the educators who are part of the writing team of the book. In writing the book, an effort was made to ensure that the projects presented reflect the spirit and style of the students who created them.
