The Dutch oven by Petromax is a cooking vessel with a lid, which has the ability to maintain the temperature inside and heat evenly, making it ideal for use on a stovetop or in the oven. It is also suitable for use directly over a fire, in a wood-fired oven, on the BBQ, or even in the fireplace.

It is made of cast iron, a material that makes it ideal for slow cooking at a steady temperature. Cast iron Dutch ovens heat up more slowly and retain temperature for a longer period. It does not have a non-stick coating, so a generous amount of oil is needed during cooking to prevent food from sticking.

The lid of the Dutch oven can be turned upside down (thanks to the 3 support legs it has) and used as a griddle over a fire or coals. When placed on top of the Dutch oven, it creates the perfect cooking conditions, as all the heat is trapped inside the oven and cooks the food evenly from all sides.
