Lenses with a focal length of 80-135mm on full frame, 50-75mm on crop frame, and 120-180mm on medium format are ideal for portrait photography as they allow photography from a medium distance and flatter the subject's features.     Incredible lens, very good image quality, fast autofocus, very good IS, but it is extremely heavy. If you shoot handheld for more than an hour, it starts to get very tiring, but it's definitely worth the money!
