This issue of autonomy is aimed at adult immigrants who are already familiar with the basic principles of reading and writing in French and wish to integrate into French life. It is part of the post-literacy method "Je parle, je pratique le francais." Its purpose is:

• To offer each student a personal work tool that they can use at their own pace, in the classroom or at home.
• To suggest an evaluation of each individual's progress.
• To allow repetition of essential vocabulary and grammatical rules.
• To provide learning exercises for communication, simple writing, and practical life.
