The FOURTH VOLUME contains odes written by Horace during the later years of his life. Horace, imbued with Greek poetry and philosophy, is one of those Roman writers who brought the Greek spirit to ancient Italy and the West.

Correctly spoke of the Greekness of the Latin poet Kostis Palamas, who calls him "Greek-rooted," but also the science, through the voice of the German philologist Wilamowitz, has characterized him as a "most Greek poet."
