H προέλευση των κόκκων(Brazil, Kenya) και η ποικιλία τους (arabica/ robusta) δεν επηρεάζει το τι είδος καφετιέρας χρησιμοποιούμε. Οι καφετιέρες φίλτρου θέλουν όμως κατάλληλη κοπή των κόκκων, ειδική για καφετιέρα φίλτρου (αναγράφεται στη συσκευασία). Δεν ξέρω γιατί έχουν δώσει αυτά τα ονόματα, οι περισσότεροι καφέδες στο σουπερμαρκετ ειναι blend arabica με robusta και πάνω απο μια προέλευση για να κοστίζουν και λιγότερο, αρα δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα με αυτό το χαρακτηριστικό στη χρήση της καφετιέρας.
