Description

North American Jerry Drake, or Mister No, is a fictional character from Italian comics created in 1975. Jerry Drake was born in 1922. His father was accused of murder and thrown into prison. With his father imprisoned, in 1938, 16-year-old Jerry decided to leave New York and ended up wandering to California. He experienced many adventures throughout World War II, where he fought as a soldier, pilot, and member of the American secret services in many places and was eventually named "Mister No" by his comrades and opponents because of his pride and stubborn refusal to submit to orders. In early 1945, he was repatriated. He was now a war veteran who could not integrate into society. He crossed the USA and, tired of the mistakes of war, disgusted by the violence of the Western world, and completely unable to adapt to a normal life in his homeland, decided to settle in Manaus, Brazil, to live his life in his own way, in a place that some people call the last frontier of civilization. A denier of the "civilized" world, the unconventional adventurer Mister No finally finds in the Amazon a way of life that suits him, and with his Piper, he becomes a tourist guide, constantly getting involved in violent adventures.

The Mister No comic titled "The House of Satan" begins in 1910, at the princely palace of the rubber magnate in the Amazon, Julio Cesar Cabral, known as the "emperor," who enjoys torturing the poor Indians who work forcibly in his vast area. His son, Francisco, exhibits unusual spiritual, psychic, and metaphysical powers, and many believe he is possessed by the devil. Over forty years later, Francisco, hunted by CIA agents, will meet Mister No, and then everything will be revealed...
