In Abdera, the city of Thrace known since the archaic era, the effort to revive the vineyard, famed since antiquity, began in 2000. Participating in this initiative, Eastern Industries started cultivating Greek and international grape varieties in 2005, applying the principles of organic farming.
The privately-owned vineyard is the northernmost seaside organic vineyard in Greece. Its location on the arid hills of Abdera, at an altitude ranging from 50-70 meters and approximately 2 kilometers from the Thracian Sea, combined with the sandy soil, continuous cool northeastern winds, and the day-to-night temperature difference of 13-15°C, create a favorable microclimate. All these factors contribute decisively to the creation of high-quality products.
