Writing is always creative.
Creative writing in the classroom can significantly aid students:
- to find their writing path more easily,
- to decide to write for enjoyment,
- to free themselves from fears and hesitations…
We can encourage them if their talent is recognized, which not everyone who writes possesses, but most importantly, to make them sensitive to technical issues, which sooner or later they would discover on their own through practice.
We can also save time for them, help them tame their material, and discover their "voice."
Having a teacher, a mentor, or a support group, the "class team," alongside them at that moment can provide significant help to young "writers." Not, of course, in the sense that it will "plant" something within them that isn't there – the seed must already be present.
