The circle. It is a symbol that the Church uses and teaches practically. A symbol of great value and for the highest reality: eternity. The circle of eternity that has no end. The Church teaches this practically, mainly in its worship.
The newly baptized believer - what significance does it have if they are an adult or an infant - enters the life in Christ through a circular dance, which leads them, when they remain 'faithful', to eternity. Newlyweds enter, as a couple now, into their journey towards eternity with a circular dance. Without this journey, truly, what meaning can there be in a marriage?
But at every opportunity, the Church places before us the circular eternity, the one without end: in the processions of many festivals (such as the Cross and Easter). And we walk towards the endless, or if we stray from this path, we are invited again and again to align ourselves with it.
