This book is the product of a discussion: a live and open discussion, between the author and his generation - at least with some of its representatives - about the Greek independent rock scene as it seemed to be shaping throughout the 1980s. The reader will encounter excerpts and episodes related to English-speaking rock in Greece through the narratives of its contributors, with the events of the time as the central axis. Additionally, some analyses and evaluations frame the text. The entire discussion - ultimately a search - is stabilized in its questions, leaving the answers to be formed in the reader's consciousness. The subject is presented almost stripped down, and the story is presented with all its ambiguities and shady details.
The author converses with Alexis Kalofolias of Last Drive, Vasilis Athanasiadis of No Man's Land, Petros Koutsoumbas of Pigasos and An, Christos Daskalopoulos, Vasilis Tzavara of Anti Troppau Council, Giorgos Koulouris of South of No North, and Lambros Tsamis. Various experiences of the author are also presented, as the book focuses on texts by other writers with several references to many of the bands in the scene. The narratives are spontaneous, and the encounters open up paths for an almost romantic return to the "Greek 60s" that coincide with the experiences of the generation that wandered through the 1980s, the decade of extreme deviations and passionate persistence. A brief musicological analysis completes the picture of the journey of a scene that was born, flourished, progressed, and gave its best to the Greek rock microcosm.
