The book that I am joyfully introducing today is the fruit of a long scientific journey of a man, who has been and remains steadfast in his ideas—whatever they may have been—with a well-structured theoretical foundation. Original studies, at times also avant-garde, crucial and decisive for the interpretation of the Middle Eastern phenomenon.

In the following texts, you will notice that alongside the interpretation of current issues, my friend Giannis, with his unyielding scientific integrity, which I have often personally witnessed, presents writings of high democratic spirit. He exposes terrorism and its tools, strips away Ottoman obscurantism, and is the first to sound the alarm about the Erdoğan phenomenon when everyone else turned a blind eye or was indifferent.

The Greece that I loved, like every free person, upon my intellectual formation, still provides and happily has not dried up. My acquaintance with the professor and friend Ioannis Th. Mazi, a noble compatriot and humanist, has been and remains one of the most significant things in my life...
