Creamy, sweet, and slightly floral scent. I would like the coconut to be a bit more prominent, but I still like it. If you prefer very fresh, light, and "sweet" scents, you won't like it. I don't know if it smells tropical because it is a bit more gourmand and heavy than what I consider tropical and summery, but it smells like the Bum Bum cream from Sol de Janeiro in a more sophisticated way! The only negative is the longevity. It almost disappears on me after 1-2 hours.
