[...]Certainly this book, as the author himself admits, does not claim literary value, as it was written by a simple self-taught person. However, it is a realistic depiction of the life of a refugee that is not much different from those of the people who built the place we live in. The difference is that some seek opportunities opportunistically and using various unfair means, while others try systematically and patiently to build something in their lives, showing respect and love for their fellow human beings. This effort, when done with an open mind and a willingness to search, can shape strong personalities that stand out like an oasis in the desert of modern reality. I think such people would be those who, 2500 years ago, on the shores of Ionia, at the exact same point from where the author's journey began, resisted the darkness of their time and laid the foundations of what we now call "science" and "culture".
