The Russians from the former USSR were used for the siphoning off of large financial resources from the European Union and the state budget. They were also used as cheap labor and objects of exploitation (to almost the same extent as foreign illegal economic migrants) for the "economic recovery" of Greece and its rapprochement with the European Union.
The coercively imposed process of state "reception and rehabilitation," which exhibited all the symptoms of an arbitrary (authoritarian) and uneducated approach, contributed to the deterioration of the social position of the aforementioned families (since 1990).
The perpetuation of acute problems and the unfair competition observed against them constitute the reason for the discrediting of state mechanisms and political leaders, but also the reason that largely exposed the prevailing mentality regarding approach and solidarity in an ethnological and social context in the Greek territory.
The official state also ignored its obligation to ensure conditions for the preservation and transmission of the unique cultural elements of Pontic Hellenism, which lost its historical, natural-geographical space and suffered the loss of hundreds of thousands of people from the Turkish-Kemalists. This sacrifice provided invaluable benefits for the establishment and stabilization of the new Greek state.
