Purchased for long-term storage file recording (recording once a year and keeping in a storage case) when its price was lower than a branded SSD of the same capacity. I don't see the reason to put it in a computer with frequent writes - deletes, especially of many files because as an SMR technology disk it is annoyingly slow. Of course, as a boot disk, it is unsuitable. For less money, prefer an SSD. Much faster and with lower consumption.

Δε βλέπω το λόγο να μπει σε υπολογιστή με συχνές εγγραφές - διαγραφές, ειδικά πολλών αρχείων γιατί ως δίσκος τεχνολογίας SMR είναι εκνευριστκά αργός. Φυσικά ως δίσκος boot είναι ακατάλληλος. Με λιγότερα χρήματα, προτιμήστε έναν SSD. Κατά πολύ ταχύτερος κ με μικρότερη κατανάλωση.
It was purchased around Christmas of '22.
Since I changed it, the PS4 was freezing more than the original 500GB one.
Apart from that, I didn't encounter any particular issue at first.
In August of '23, suddenly the PlayStation started freezing quite often, kicking me out of games, taking a long time to enter or exit standby mode.
And suddenly at the end of August of '23, the hard drive crashed,
Causing problems such as,
files not existing,
the hard drive not being recognized until the system was destroyed.
We tried reconnecting, installed a new operating system, the issue was resolved but it started freezing again, until it happened again.
Now I'm back to the original 500GB one,
and I can no longer trust it anymore.
Conclusion:
Buy at your own risk.

Μέσα Αυγούστου 23', ξαφνικά τό playstation κολλούσε αρκετά, με πετούσε από παιχνίδια, αργούσε να μπει σέ αδράνεια ή να κλείσει.
Και ξαφνικά τέλη Αυγούστου τού 23' ο σκληρός τα φτησε,
Μου έβγαλε πρόβλημα όπως,
τα αρχεία δεν υπάρχουν,
ο σκληρός δεν αναγνωρίζειται μέχρι πού τό σύστημα καταστράφηκε.
Έγινε επανασύνδεση, περάσαμε νέο λειτουργικό, τό θέμα λύθηκε κολλούσε πάλι, μέχρι πού ξανά έγινε.
Τώρα βρίσκομαι στον original 500σαρι,
και πλέον δεν μπορώ να εμπιστευτώ τπτ πλέων.

Western Digital is a brand that does not need recommendations. I have had a hard drive from this company in the past and its durability is good. The speed of the second drive that I have in my laptop is great. If you load it with an operating system and use it as storage, there may be delays.

Honest disk, silent, good speed. I put it in an external case and use it as a backup Time Machine on an Apple computer. It's value for money at this price.

I have him for just 2 months but so far he is perfect, I easily installed him as an extra disk on my gaming laptop to do the game installations there since the laptop's m2 is 512 and I only have it for the operating system and 2-3 games, he is quite fast and the temperatures are even lower than the m2 and the external ones I have connected, I am very satisfied so far

I have had it for 3 months, I mainly got it as a backup. I chose it over the corresponding cheaper 3.5" mainly because of its size, so it doesn't have weight and doesn't take up space in the case.
However, it is quite slow compared to the larger ones, but I knew that before I got it. It doesn't bother me for the use I want it for. But if you want to use it frequently, it will inconvenience you, so it's better to get a 3.5" one

I have had it as my main hard drive in my tower for 2 and a half years and it hasn't had any issues at all. The truth is I take care of it, I have filled it up to 90% and I usually keep it at 80%. I mainly play games from here and everything is fine. I also did a health check and it is like new, no issues there.
2nd update (November 20, 2024): Absolutely no problems. I am attaching a CrystalDiskInfo screenshot.
2μιση χρόνια τον έχω σαν βασικό σκληρό δίσκο στον πύργο μου και δεν έχει πάθει απολύτως τίποτα. Η αλήθεια είναι τον προσέχω, τον έχω γεμίσει ως τα 90% και τον κρατάω συνήθως στα 80%. Παιχνίδια από εδώ παίζω κυρίως και όλα καλά. Τον έκανα και ένα health check και είναι σαν καινούργιος, κανένα θέμα και εκεί.
Entered into a laptop as a replacement for a six-year-old Toshiba 750gb that had bad sectors, and the WD is even slower. With 5400rpm and the new smr technology introduced by manufacturers for cost-saving reasons, the speed has decreased even further and it is not worth it compared to sata ssd drives now that their prices have dropped so low. Although more expensive (about double the price per gb), they excel in speed and reliability. It is not a bad product, it is just outdated.
Μπήκε σε laptop ως δεύτερος αντικαθιστώντας έναν Toshiba 750gb εξαετίας που εμφάνισε bad sectors και ο WD είναι ακόμα πιο αργός.
Με 5400rpm και με τη νέα τεχνολογία smr που καθιερώθηκε για λόγους οικονομίας από τους κατασκευαστές η ταχύτητα έπεσε ακόμα περισσότερο και δεν αξίζει σε σχέση με τους sata ssd τώρα που οι τιμές τους έχουν πέσει τόσο χαμηλά αφού αν και ακριβότεροι (περίπου διπλή τιμή ανά gb) υπερτερούν τρομακτικά σε ταχύτητα και αξιοπιστία.
Δεν είναι κακό προϊόν άπλα είναι ξεπερασμένο.
Although I haven't had it for long (it was purchased on 23-11-2020), everything has been good so far. It's small, lightweight, and quiet, without reaching high temperatures. It's perfect for my new laptop, serving as extra space mainly for games. The only negative aspect I would mention is its packaging, which was just a bag without any accessories (screws for mounting). It gave me a hard time searching for them from my old devices, but other than that, it's perfect.

2μιση χρόνια τον έχω σαν βασικό σκληρό δίσκο στον πύργο μου και δεν έχει πάθει απολύτως τίποτα. Η αλήθεια είναι τον προσέχω, τον έχω γεμίσει ως τα 90% και τον κρατάω συνήθως στα 80%. Παιχνίδια από εδώ παίζω κυρίως και όλα καλά. Τον έκανα και ένα health check και είναι σαν καινούργιος, κανένα θέμα και εκεί.
Entered into a laptop as a replacement for a six-year-old Toshiba 750gb that had bad sectors, and the WD is even slower. With 5400rpm and the new smr technology introduced by manufacturers for cost-saving reasons, the speed has decreased even further and it is not worth it compared to sata ssd drives now that their prices have dropped so low. Although more expensive (about double the price per gb), they excel in speed and reliability. It is not a bad product, it is just outdated.

Με 5400rpm και με τη νέα τεχνολογία smr που καθιερώθηκε για λόγους οικονομίας από τους κατασκευαστές η ταχύτητα έπεσε ακόμα περισσότερο και δεν αξίζει σε σχέση με τους sata ssd τώρα που οι τιμές τους έχουν πέσει τόσο χαμηλά αφού αν και ακριβότεροι (περίπου διπλή τιμή ανά gb) υπερτερούν τρομακτικά σε ταχύτητα και αξιοπιστία.
Δεν είναι κακό προϊόν άπλα είναι ξεπερασμένο.
Although I haven't had it for long (it was purchased on 23-11-2020), everything has been good so far. It's small, lightweight, and quiet, without reaching high temperatures. It's perfect for my new laptop, serving as extra space mainly for games. The only negative aspect I would mention is its packaging, which was just a bag without any accessories (screws for mounting). It gave me a hard time searching for them from my old devices, but other than that, it's perfect.
Αν και δεν τον έχω πολύ καιρό (η αγορά του έγινε στις 23-11-2020) μέχρι τώρα όλα καλά, μικρός ελαφρύς και αθόρυβος χωρίς ιδιαίτερα υψηλές θερμοκρασίες, ότι πρέπει για το νέο μου laptop, σαν έξτρα χώρος κυρίως για τα παιχνίδια, στα αρνητικά του, θα έλεγα μόνο για τη συσκευασία του, που ήταν σε ένα σακουλάκι, χωρίς καθόλου παρελκόμενα (βίδες στερέωσης) και με παίδεψε στο να ψάχνω από παλιές μου συσκευές, κατά τα άλλα τέλειο.
Purchased for long-term storage file recording (recording once a year and keeping in a storage case) when its price was lower than a branded SSD of the same capacity. I don't see the reason to put it in a computer with frequent writes - deletes, especially of many files because as an SMR technology disk it is annoyingly slow. Of course, as a boot disk, it is unsuitable. For less money, prefer an SSD. Much faster and with lower consumption.
Αγοράστηκε για εγγραφή αρχείων μακράς αποθήκευσης (εγγραφή μια φορά το χρόνο κ φύλαξη σε θήκη αποθήκευσης) όταν η τιμή του ήταν χαμηλότερη ενός επώνυμου SSD ίδιας χωρητικότητας. Δε βλέπω το λόγο να μπει σε υπολογιστή με συχνές εγγραφές - διαγραφές, ειδικά πολλών αρχείων γιατί ως δίσκος τεχνολογίας SMR είναι εκνευριστκά αργός. Φυσικά ως δίσκος boot είναι ακατάλληλος. Με λιγότερα χρήματα, προτιμήστε έναν SSD. Κατά πολύ ταχύτερος κ με μικρότερη κατανάλωση.
It was purchased around Christmas of '22.
Since I changed it, the PS4 was freezing more than the original 500GB one.
Apart from that, I didn't encounter any particular issue at first.
In August of '23, suddenly the PlayStation started freezing quite often, kicking me out of games, taking a long time to enter or exit standby mode.
And suddenly at the end of August of '23, the hard drive crashed,
Causing problems such as,
files not existing,
the hard drive not being recognized until the system was destroyed.
We tried reconnecting, installed a new operating system, the issue was resolved but it started freezing again, until it happened again.
Now I'm back to the original 500GB one,
and I can no longer trust it anymore.
Conclusion:
Buy at your own risk.
Αγοράστηκε περίπου Χριστούγεννα τού 22'.
Από τότε πού τόν άλλαξα, το ps4 κολλούσε περισσότερο από τόν original 500σαρι.
Εκτός από αυτό στην αρχή δεν αντιμετώπισα κάποιο ιδιαίτερο θέμα.
Μέσα Αυγούστου 23', ξαφνικά τό playstation κολλούσε αρκετά, με πετούσε από παιχνίδια, αργούσε να μπει σέ αδράνεια ή να κλείσει.
Και ξαφνικά τέλη Αυγούστου τού 23' ο σκληρός τα φτησε,
Μου έβγαλε πρόβλημα όπως,
τα αρχεία δεν υπάρχουν,
ο σκληρός δεν αναγνωρίζειται μέχρι πού τό σύστημα καταστράφηκε.
Έγινε επανασύνδεση, περάσαμε νέο λειτουργικό, τό θέμα λύθηκε κολλούσε πάλι, μέχρι πού ξανά έγινε.
Τώρα βρίσκομαι στον original 500σαρι,
και πλέον δεν μπορώ να εμπιστευτώ τπτ πλέων.

Τον πήρα να αντικαταστήσω τον παλιό στο ps4 που κάηκε. Ενώ ο παλιός έκανε κολλήματα κτλ αυτός δεν νιώθει με τίποτα. Είναι σκυλί και αξιόπιστο
I have always used WD hard drives on HDD and never had a problem.. Now I have it as a second one on my laptop and everything is fine... Windows run on a Samsung SSD and I got this one as a second one on my laptop...
ανέκαθεν έπαιρνα WD σκληρούς σε HDD και ποτέ δεν ειχα πρόβλημα.. τώρα έλα και σαν δευτερο στο λαπτοπ και όλα καλα... τα windows τρέχουν σε SSD samsung και σαν δευτερο και στο λαπτοπ πήρα αυτον...
