Description

Description

After ten years of crisis and eight years of memorandum policies, the Greek economy is showing a relative stabilization. However, this is a stabilization of poverty, without prospects for rapid growth that would reduce unemployment and systematically increase incomes.

Greece is trapped and pays the cost of staying in the eurozone at any expense. The current study paves the way for designing an alternative path through a detailed examination of the monetary union and the Greek economy, which has been affected more than any other in the eurozone.

It constitutes a first attempt at a comprehensive analysis and the formulation of the development strategy that the country needs. The study identifies the general macroeconomic policies that should be adopted, as well as the necessary structural restructuring of the economy. Finally, it proposes a course not only for Greece but also for other countries in the eurozone periphery.
