I have no point of comparison. I bought this specific machine because it was relatively affordable and promised a smooth performance. Indeed, it has not caused me any irritation problems and clearly gives me the best shaves of my life.

I compare it to the rubbish sold in supermarkets (Gilette, Wilkinson, Bic, etc.), whether disposable or the more fancy types like Sensor Excel, Mach3, and the like. Clearly, it is day and night. There is no discussion: throw them out the window, they are leagues below even if they have as many blades as they want.
The only issue with the MERKUR is that the coating on one component (where the handle screws in) has come off and the iron is exposed. It's a minor issue, but worth mentioning. These things are paid a bit more for, hoping that you will have them forever. Approximately...

Μοναδικό ζήτημα με τη MERKUR είναι πως έφυγε η επίστρωση στον κοχλία του ενός εξαρτήματος (στο σημείο που βιδώνει η λαβή) κι έχει αποκαλυφθεί το σίδερο από μέσα. Μικρό το κακό, αλλά είναι άξιο αναφοράς. Αυτά τα πράματα τα πληρώνεις λίγο πιο ακριβά και ελπίζεις ότι θα τα έχεις για πάντα. Περίπου...
