As the science of adding new uses to old shells becomes more established, with specialized studies, materials, and language, the autonomy of actions will be increasingly required. The outcome is judged solely as a process of preservation and restoration under its strict rules, and it hardly falls under the general and unified method of regulating architectural practice.
