The set is what we call a "replacement", meaning that when the factory ones or whatever else gives up, you can put these as the cheapest but decent solution. The woofer is literally cheap, be careful with its "cuts" (I already "butchered" it during installation), it has the necessary components (suspension/engine at the lower end of the quality spectrum, fragile terminals, etc.), but it has a decent cone membrane and a very small installation size (you don't even need to wonder if it will fit or not - it will definitely fit). The tweeter also belongs to the overall construction philosophy: it won't disappoint, but it's not a "top performer" in any area. It is also very small and convenient to install. The set is completed with grilles, screws, spacers, and the typical wiring WITH a capacitor for tweeter protection.

In practice, it will simply play satisfactorily with some source, of course, the source will most likely distort first and this will be expressed with discomfort from the speakers. Like all aftermarket speakers, they are made as "satellite" speakers, meaning that the presence of a subwoofer is required to reproduce the lower end of the acoustic spectrum, freeing them from the burden of bass (so an HPF somewhere around 80-100 Hz is necessary). If someone wants to drive them through a power amplifier, no problem: although their overall appearance doesn't inspire much for such a setup, in reasonable power conditions, they won't say no. On the contrary, their dynamics increase significantly (the main reason for having a power amplifier). If there is also a sound infrastructure in the car (e.g., insulation and solid action of the woofer), then things get even better, as long as we always keep in mind that we are dealing with a "small-scale" set, so we should moderate our expectations.

The Pioneer speakers are cheap and honest, in a nutshell, and as always, the better you treat them, the better they will perform.

I replaced the "burned" (polymer-coated on the cone) factory HMC 40-watt 2-way speakers of my Hyundai Getz (after 17 years) on the front doors when they started to crackle when I turned up the bass a little.

After opening the fabric/covers from the door (I watched a video on YouTube), I removed the old speakers by unscrewing 3 screws. I cut the cable at the height after the connector that the Hyundai has and connected the new cables there, which go to the new speakers (meaning the new speakers have the proprietary Hyundai connector like the old ones).

The new Pioneer TS-G170C speakers were relatively easy to install, although they are about 0.5 centimeters wider than the factory ones (they don't sit exactly on the base, but the screw holes are slightly further out). I placed the new short wood screws for fastening a little closer to the existing plastic cylindrical frame, and the new speakers were securely fastened without anything touching where it shouldn't or being pressed. They are structurally less deep than the old ones, so they won't touch anything in the back, and I didn't have any problems with the door cover due to the slightly larger width (there are tolerances). The cover was repositioned without any issues. If they were even slightly smaller, then we would have a problem. With the slightly wider size, there is no problem.

The sound is generally good (up to very good), obviously better than the factory ones, which were "burned," so the comparison is not fair. And when they were new, I personally found them good, very satisfactory, but only after I changed the source that drove them (I changed the audio system). I replaced the old 2004 factory audio system, a TEN brand cassette player (!), with a Pioneer CD-MP3 player with a 4X50W amplifier that transformed the sound as if I had also changed the speakers (it drove them much better with noticeably superior DSP and overall circuitry). The sound then, for me, became perfect, lively, sweet, bassy, impressive for a "simple" audio system (let's say I don't listen at excessive volumes, but not too softly either). So YES, I say it with certainty because in the past, I didn't believe it as much; the audio system has a huge impact on sound quality, not just the speakers. I later installed cheaper Pioneer speakers with USB MP3 for 50€, and I didn't see the same result (they didn't have the electronics of the more expensive Pioneer speakers like mine in terms of sound quality).

For reference, the factory HMC speakers were nom 20W - max 40W (4 ohms), and these new ones are nom 45W max 300W (4 ohms), and they matched well. They are driven very nicely and have intensity to offer, although I haven't pushed them too hard yet since they are still breaking in (again, I'm not using them for show-off purposes with open windows, I'm talking about a simple audio system).

I didn't install their tweeters (since they are two-way speakers with separate tweeters) in the door positions above the mirrors (inside the side) because I would have had to remove the well-glued old ones, and I didn't find a reason, but it would probably have been a hassle. Generally, the tweeters don't have a difference between them, nor are they the important part of a speaker in these specifications/price range. So I kept the factory ones, which blend well with the existing ones. I will keep the Pioneer tweeters somewhere for future changes if I decide to install them someday. They do have a cable with a small integrated high-pass filter (cross-over, shall we say?) inside that sends only the high frequencies to the tweeters.

For the Hyundai Getz, also consider the smaller/cheaper Pioneer TS-G1710F, Pioneer TS-G1720F speakers that have the tweeter on top of the woofer, which others have chosen.

Now I have to see the speakers in the rear doors, which are probably also "burned out" even though they don't sound like it (but even the front ones only for the co-driver seemed to be creaking, and both had their own problems and the bass had dropped quite a bit compared to before).

In the end, time will tell if the purchase was successful, but initially I am satisfied.
