This work is a continuation of the book titled: "Teaching of First Reading and Writing. The case of neighboring countries. A: Bulgarian, Georgian, Romanian and Turkish Alphabet", which was published in 2002. With its content, the research of the school textbooks of the neighboring countries for the teaching of first reading and writing is completed and the conditions are created for the formation of a comprehensive view of the methodological and teaching principles of these books with a reference point to the broader interest of the scientific community for this specific field of knowledge.
The work is part of the scientific field of language teaching and research of school textbooks. The method of content analysis was used as a methodological tool, as recorded in the introduction to Part A. It should be noted that in the case of the Armenian and Ukrainian alphabet books, the use of the image as a unit of analysis was frequent, due to the specificity of their content. The results justified the research hypothesis: Alphabet books, like any school textbook, function as carriers of ideologies and values through their content. [...] (from the book's preface)
