Description & Specifications

The Alessi Pulcina espresso maker automatically stops the flow of coffee at just the right moment, before bitter compounds are extracted. Its specially designed spout cuts off the flow cleanly without dripping, while the embossed surface of the body evokes the contour lines of topographic maps. It was designed by Michele De Lucchi in collaboration with illycaffè.

It works using steam pressure and is used on a stovetop. Fill the lower chamber with water up to the safety valve, and fill the conical filter with ground coffee without tamping. Coffee ground slightly coarser than that used for espresso machines is recommended. The handle and knob are made of PA (polyamide).
