The book is by Stephen King so it will definitely be good. Personally, I read it influenced by the movies and the series to learn more about It. I believe that the movies and the series have portrayed the plot and almost everything else better and are more "enjoyable." In the book, there are countless things that are not important at all and he analyzes them a lot, resulting in the reader getting tired. I think it's worth reading for someone who likes the movies, but it's not one of Stephen King's best, neither in plot nor in horror. It might deserve more than 3 stars, but it's a bit tiring and you should keep in mind that you have to get the second volume as well, and overall the story is 1750 pages long so it's quite big for a book.
Το βιβλίο είναι του Stephen King οπότε σίγουρα θα είναι καλό. Προσωπικά το διαβάσω επηρεασμένος από τις ταινίες και την σειρά για να μάθω περισσότερα πράγματα για Το Αυτό. While the first half of the book was quite enjoyable with scary moments and very interesting stories about "It" and what it can do, the other half was so awful and often disgusting that it ruined the whole experience in the end.
First of all, the book is VERY long, filled with unnecessary events and descriptions that tire the reader instead of adding anything substantial.
The book also failed miserably in its attempt to stand the test of time, with a plethora of offensive remarks ranging from physical weight, race, gender, sexual orientation to religion. I don't think I've read the word N more times in any other book. And if that wasn't enough, the book is filled with moments of bullying, abuse, physical and sexual, and just overall too many miserable moments. I had to suffer more from these moments than from actual horror encounters with monsters.
The ending didn't explain any important issues nor satisfied me as much as I would have liked, and we also had close to zero information about 2 characters that I won't "spoil" here.
And finally, one cannot overlook the worst part of any novel I have consumed in my life... that incident with the children near the end of the book... I would be ashamed to associate my name with this book regardless of the state I was in when I wrote it, and I cannot recommend this book to anyone, even just because of that moment. Absolute disgust. Watch the movie instead of reading this abomination.

Θα ντρεπόμουν να συνδεθεί το όνομά μου με αυτό το βιβλίο ανεξάρτητα από της κατάστασης που ήμουν όταν το έγραφα και δεν μπορώ να συστήσω αυτό το βιβλίο σε κανέναν, έστω και μόνο λόγω εκείνης της στιγμής. Απόλυτη αηδία. Δες την ταινία αντί να διαβάσεις "Αυτό" το έκτρωμα.
I hadn't read the first one, and I read this one directly. It was the time when the movie came out, and I wanted to see how the book would be because I considered the movie to be overrated. I didn't regret reading it at all. It keeps you fully engaged and eager to find out what will happen next. It's more of a children's adventure than a horror book, as most people believe. I recommend it to everyone.

Δεν μετάνιωσα καθολου που το διαβασα. Σε κρατάει φούλ σε αγωνια, και ανυπομονεις να μαθεις τι θα συμβει παρακάτω. Προκειται περισσοτερο για μια περιπετεια παιδιών, παρα για βιβλιο τρόμου, οπως πιστευουν ο περισσοτεροι. Το προτεινω σε όλους.

The book didn't particularly impress me. Supposedly it's a thriller book, but it reminds me more of dark comedy.

At first, many may be afraid of it because of its size, but I consider it excellent in every sense. Personally, I watched the movies first and then read the books, but this doesn't matter much as the books have many more scenes than expected from the movies. My only complaint is that many English concepts or street names, etc. are translated into Greek, which personally tires me (e.g. main street, μείν στριτ), but otherwise everything is perfect.
Στην αρχή πολλοί ίσως να το φοβηθούν λογο του μεγέθους του ωστόσο θεωρώ πως είναι εξαιρετικό προς όλες τις έννοιες. The book absorbs you from the first pages. Very well written with shifts in time. I suggest reading the two books first and then watching the movies, as the books contain a lot of "material" that the movies don't show. The descriptive writing style can give you goosebumps at certain points!

While the first half of the book was quite enjoyable with scary moments and very interesting stories about "It" and what it can do, the other half was so awful and often disgusting that it ruined the whole experience in the end.
First of all, the book is VERY long, filled with unnecessary events and descriptions that tire the reader instead of adding anything substantial.
The book also failed miserably in its attempt to stand the test of time, with a plethora of offensive remarks ranging from physical weight, race, gender, sexual orientation to religion. I don't think I've read the word N more times in any other book. And if that wasn't enough, the book is filled with moments of bullying, abuse, physical and sexual, and just overall too many miserable moments. I had to suffer more from these moments than from actual horror encounters with monsters.
The ending didn't explain any important issues nor satisfied me as much as I would have liked, and we also had close to zero information about 2 characters that I won't "spoil" here.
And finally, one cannot overlook the worst part of any novel I have consumed in my life... that incident with the children near the end of the book... I would be ashamed to associate my name with this book regardless of the state I was in when I wrote it, and I cannot recommend this book to anyone, even just because of that moment. Absolute disgust. Watch the movie instead of reading this abomination.

Δεν πιστεύω ότι έχω διαβάσει τη λέξη από Ν περισσότερες φορές σε κανένα άλλο βιβλίο. Και αν αυτό δεν ήταν αρκετό, το βιβλίο είναι γεμάτο με στιγμές εκφοβισμού, κακοποίησης, σωματικής και σεξουαλικής και γενικά υπερβολικά πολλές μίζερες στιγμές. Έπρεπε να υποφέρω περισσότερο από αυτές τις στιγμές παρά από πραγματικές συναντήσεις τρόμου με τέρατα.
Το τέλος δεν εξήγησε κάποια σημαντικά θέματα ούτε με ικανοποιούσε όσο θα ήθελα και είχαμε επίσης κοντά στις μηδέν πληροφορίες σχετικά με 2 χαρακτήρες που δεν θα "spoilarw" εδώ.
Και τέλος δεν μπορεί κανείς να παραλείψει το χειρότερο κομμάτι οποιουδήποτε μυθιστορήματος που έχω καταναλώσει στη ζωή μου... αυτό το περιστατικό με τα παιδιά κοντά στο τέλος του βιβλίου... Θα ντρεπόμουν να συνδεθεί το όνομά μου με αυτό το βιβλίο ανεξάρτητα από της κατάστασης που ήμουν όταν το έγραφα και δεν μπορώ να συστήσω αυτό το βιβλίο σε κανέναν, έστω και μόνο λόγω εκείνης της στιγμής. Απόλυτη αηδία. Δες την ταινία αντί να διαβάσεις "Αυτό" το έκτρωμα.
I hadn't read the first one, and I read this one directly. It was the time when the movie came out, and I wanted to see how the book would be because I considered the movie to be overrated. I didn't regret reading it at all. It keeps you fully engaged and eager to find out what will happen next. It's more of a children's adventure than a horror book, as most people believe. I recommend it to everyone.
P.S. The ending is amazing. Just read it.
Δεν ειχα διαβασει το πρωτο, και διαβασα κατευθειαν αυτο. Ήταν η εποχη που είχε βγει το αυτο στο σινεμα, και ήθελα να δω πως θα είναι το βιβλιο, γιατι θεωρουσα οτι η ταινια ήταν overrated. Δεν μετάνιωσα καθολου που το διαβασα. Σε κρατάει φούλ σε αγωνια, και ανυπομονεις να μαθεις τι θα συμβει παρακάτω. Προκειται περισσοτερο για μια περιπετεια παιδιών, παρα για βιβλιο τρόμου, οπως πιστευουν ο περισσοτεροι. Το προτεινω σε όλους.

Guys, if you read this, you will be amazed. The only book that truly scared me! However, you should know that if you haven't read Stephen King before, it will take some time to get used to his writing style. (Of course, I'm talking about both volumes together)
Παιδιά αν το διαβάσετε θα πάθετε πλάκα. Το μόνο βιβλίο που με τρόμαξε πραγματικά! Να ξέρετε όμως πως αν δεν έχετε ξαναδιαβάσει Stephen King θα χρειαστείτε λίγο καιρό για να συνηθίσεται τον τρόπο γραφής του. (Φυσικά μιλάω και για τους δύο τόμους μαζί)

The book didn't particularly impress me. Supposedly it's a thriller book, but it reminds me more of dark comedy.

At first, many may be afraid of it because of its size, but I consider it excellent in every sense. Personally, I watched the movies first and then read the books, but this doesn't matter much as the books have many more scenes than expected from the movies. My only complaint is that many English concepts or street names, etc. are translated into Greek, which personally tires me (e.g. main street, μείν στριτ), but otherwise everything is perfect.
Στην αρχή πολλοί ίσως να το φοβηθούν λογο του μεγέθους του ωστόσο θεωρώ πως είναι εξαιρετικό προς όλες τις έννοιες. Εγώ προσωπικά πρώτα είδα τις ταινίες και μετά διάβασα τα βιβλία όμως αυτό δεν παίζει μεγάλη σημασία καθώς στα βιβλία έχει πολλές περισσότερες σκηνές από τις ταινίες αναμενόμενα. Το μόνο παράπονο μου είναι ότι πολλές αγγλικές έννοιες , ή ονομασίες δρόμων κτλπ. είναι μεταφρασμένες στα ελληνικά κατι που εμενα προσωπικά με κουράζει (πχ main street, μείν στριτ) κατά τα άλλα όλα τέλεια..
The book absorbs you from the first pages. Very well written with shifts in time. I suggest reading the two books first and then watching the movies, as the books contain a lot of "material" that the movies don't show. The descriptive writing style can give you goosebumps at certain points!

The book is by Stephen King so it will definitely be good. Personally, I read it influenced by the movies and the series to learn more about It. I believe that the movies and the series have portrayed the plot and almost everything else better and are more "enjoyable." In the book, there are countless things that are not important at all and he analyzes them a lot, resulting in the reader getting tired. I think it's worth reading for someone who likes the movies, but it's not one of Stephen King's best, neither in plot nor in horror. It might deserve more than 3 stars, but it's a bit tiring and you should keep in mind that you have to get the second volume as well, and overall the story is 1750 pages long so it's quite big for a book.
Το βιβλίο είναι του Stephen King οπότε σίγουρα θα είναι καλό. Προσωπικά το διαβάσω επηρεασμένος από τις ταινίες και την σειρά για να μάθω περισσότερα πράγματα για Το Αυτό. Πιστεύω ότι οι ταινίες και οι σειρά έχουν αποδώσει καλύτερα την πλοκή και γενικά σχεδόν τα πάντα και είναι πιο "ωραίες". Στο βιβλίο υπάρχουν άπειρα πράγματα που δεν είναι καθόλου σημαντικά και τα αναλύει παρά πολύ με αποτέλεσμα να κουράζεται ο αναγνώστης. Πιστεύω ότι αξίζει να το διαβάσει κάποιος πού του αρέσουν οι ταινίες αλλά δεν είναι και από τα καλύτερα του Stephen King ούτε σε πλοκή, ούτε σε τρόμο. Μπορεί και να αξίζει παραπάνω από 3 αστέρια αλλά είναι λίγο κουραστικό και πρέπει να έχετε υπόψη ότι πρέπει να πάρετε και τον δεύτερο τόμο και συνολικά η ιστορία έχει 1750 σελίδες οπότε είναι αρκετά μεγάλη για ένα βιβλίο.
