Description

Complete unabridged edition. Down there, we all float... A little boy in a yellow raincoat happily runs alongside a paper boat sailing in a rain-flooded gutter. The rain has finally subsided, and it falls on the yellow hood like a drizzle on a tin roof. The boy in the yellow raincoat is George Denbrough, and on that autumn day, he was six years old...

What makes the small town of Derry so terrifyingly different from others is all that only children see – and feel. In the gutters and sewer systems, It lurks, taking the form of a nightmare, the deepest fear that resides in every child. However, from time to time, It emerges from the bleak and damp depths, grabbing, dismembering, killing… Years go by, the children grow up, leave the town, and forget. Until the moment someone calls them back to face It once again, which slithers like a reptile in the dark recesses of their memory as it rises to turn the nightmares of the past into an indescribably horrific reality.

The legendary work of Stephen King for the first time on screen! Stephen King is one of the most significant authors of our time. He has written over 50 novels, 200 short stories, and essays, with sales exceeding 350 million copies. Among his works, many of which have been adapted into films or series, are Carrie, It, Salem's Lot, The Shining, Skeleton Crew, the Dark Tower saga, The Shining, The Green Mile, Misery, Stand By Me, Hearts in Atlantis, The Dome.

He has been honored with the Bram Stoker and Locus awards, from the British, American, and International Horror Writers Associations, with the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, and with the National Medal of Arts from the USA, while in 2016 he was honored by the Library of Congress for his Body of Work.

This review is about the book: Volume I

The book is by Stephen King so it will definitely be good. Personally, I read it influenced by the movies and the series to learn more about It. I believe that the movies and the series have portrayed the plot and almost everything else better and are more "enjoyable." In the book, there are countless things that are not important at all and he analyzes them a lot, resulting in the reader getting tired. I think it's worth reading for someone who likes the movies, but it's not one of Stephen King's best, neither in plot nor in horror. It might deserve more than 3 stars, but it's a bit tiring and you should keep in mind that you have to get the second volume as well, and overall the story is 1750 pages long so it's quite big for a book.

I hadn't read the first one, and I read this one directly. It was the time when the movie came out, and I wanted to see how the book would be because I considered the movie to be overrated. I didn't regret reading it at all. It keeps you fully engaged and eager to find out what will happen next. It's more of a children's adventure than a horror book, as most people believe. I recommend it to everyone.

P.S. The ending is amazing. Just read it.

Guys, if you read this, you will be amazed. The only book that truly scared me! However, you should know that if you haven't read Stephen King before, it will take some time to get used to his writing style. (Of course, I'm talking about both volumes together)

This review is about the book: Volume I

At first, many may be afraid of it because of its size, but I consider it excellent in every sense. Personally, I watched the movies first and then read the books, but this doesn't matter much as the books have many more scenes than expected from the movies. My only complaint is that many English concepts or street names, etc. are translated into Greek, which personally tires me (e.g. main street, μείν στριτ), but otherwise everything is perfect.

This review is about the book: Volume I

The book absorbs you from the first pages. Very well written with shifts in time. I suggest reading the two books first and then watching the movies, as the books contain a lot of "material" that the movies don't show. The descriptive writing style can give you goosebumps at certain points!
