If you then divide the length into more rectangles and draw the diagonal of both the entire rectangle and the individual ones, it will be easy for the diameter of the whole to be considered common, parallel, and equal to the longer side both in the large one and in the individual rectangles. The smaller the individual rectangle, the more this observation could hold true.

The skewness of the diagonal and the inequality of length are difficult to establish in large rectangles. Therefore, without hesitation, one could consider the diagonal as the length of the shape in this case. If you make the diagonal even more skewed, such that it extends outside the sides, either both or at least one, the same observations will cease to exist.
